about
A prophetic song for these crazy times, written before the pandemic, before Trump or Biden came to power. Before Putin invaded Ukraine. Before Brexit. Now released for the first time in 2022.
This song was written in our old practice room, in a sad old building that has since been pulled down and replaced with a vacant lot.
The original demo was layered with guitars, but the final version is somewhat stripped back. It was two separate ideas written both in the same session and glued together.
lyrics
We are the zombies walking
Straight line and vision fading
Ghosts all, and life is waning
Wait to come and wait to go
And this is all that we are
All our conversations break up
We have opinions forming
But I can’t wait, I can’t wait
We are the zombies walking
Big Business leading us astray
We are the zombies walking
Waiting for the government to fix the planet
I don’t understand
I don’t understand your vision
People are going all crazy
I don’t want to, before I’m sane
Am I the only one who’s loving you?
Been holding up, and holding you
People working hard to face the day
I’ve been working and forcing myself
To be the only one for you
It’s all you’ve taught me how to do
We are the zombies walking
Straight line and vision fading
Ghosts all, and life is waning
Wait to come and wait to go
And this is all that we are
All our conversations break up
We have opinions forming
But I can’t wait
